BRADLEY, Monterey County — October 28, 2026. Monterey County’s 2026 road program included a roughly $650,000 pavement overlay in the Bradley area. A county notice dated March 2 said the Bradley Road Overlay Project would begin March 9, 2026, along Bradley Road between Bradley Bridge and Sargent Road, with work on several community streets.

Which streets were named?

The county’s announcement listed Bradley Road, Monterey Street, Pleyto Street and Salinas Street. Work was described as removing older asphalt and placing new hot-mix asphalt, followed by updated lane striping, pavement markings and reflectors. Granite Construction was named as prime contractor, and the project was identified as No. 450005.

How was the project funded?

The published estimated construction cost was approximately $650,000, paid through Monterey County Measure AA. The amount applied to the overall roadwork package, not a separate $650,000 award to each street.

Are crews working there in late October?

The original schedule anticipated about three weeks of construction, weather permitting, with most work during 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The March release is useful evidence of what the county planned; it is not proof that construction remains active or that all work passed final inspection by October 28. Residents should contact Public Works for the project closeout and any new pavement or detour information.

Why it matters locally

Bradley’s local streets connect homes, businesses and farms to the county road network. Smoother pavement and refreshed markings may make ordinary trips easier, but traffic controls and road maintenance can return for reasons unrelated to the original overlay.
